There’s a reason you see Rossignol race skis all over the World Cup podium. These skis just rip at every level of competition. For 2021, Rossignol is doubling down on the technology that has served them well. Aside from one notable exception with the 165cm slalom ski, Rossi’s race skis continue with the same construction with an updated graphic.

On the junior side of things, Rossi is back with the Hero Athlete SL Pro and the Hero Athlete GS Pro. These skis are incredibly popular with junior ski racers, especially lightweight ones, for which the Rossi flex is ideally suited. Rossi’s junior slalom ski goes up to the 149cm size, and the GS goes to 165cm.

For athletes who have outgrown the junior slalom ski, Rossi makes an incredibly popular “tweener” model in the 150cm size. The Rossignol Hero Athlete Tweener SL features an adult race plate and a similar construction to the adult ski. However, the ski is made softer to accommodate lighter, developing athletes. This ski serves as a bridge from the junior slalom to the adult FIS slalom ski.

For adult slalom skis, Rossignol offers the Hero Athlete FIS SL in sizes 157cm and 165cm, both of which are FIS legal. We recommend the 157cm for women racers and the 165cm for male athletes. New for 2021, the 165cm has added metal in the tip of the ski to make it more torsionally rigid. This technology came straight from the World Cup and promises to make the 165cm ski hold better throughout the turn.

For adult giant slalom skis, Rossignol makes two versions: The Hero Athlete FIS GS and the Hero Athlete Non FIS GS. The FIS GS ski comes in 188cm and 193cm and has a radius of greater than 30 meters, making it legal for FIS competition. The Non FIS version comes in sizes 170cm, 175cm, and 182cm. All of these skis are legal for USSA competition and have a radius of less than 30 meters.
