The POC Artic SL Spin ski racing helmet is constructed with POC's SPIN (Shearing Pad INside) technology, which is their patent-pending rotational impact system. This innovative design minimizes the forces of oblique or angled impacts to your brain.  The SPIN pads are strategically placed to deflect crash energy coming from any direction, and help protect the head during a fall.  SPIN technology is offered throughout the entire POC race and some of their recreational line.

The POC Artic SL Spin helmet also has other features including Visco-elastic Polymer Dough (VPD 2.0) inserts in the rear of the helmet, a multi impact EPP foam liner, durable ABS shell and adjustable ventilation sliders.

The POC Maxilla Breakaway Chin Guard is included and can be set as a fixed chin bar, (similar to the older POC Maxilla bars) or set to break away from the helmet at varying impact levels.  This helps to minimize potential neck injuries and will meet the needs of different ability levels and types of slalom racers on differing courses.  The chin guard comes with a simple self-adjustment system that gives the athletes the flexibility to make changes to the set during training and race days.  Please note, this helmet is not FIS RH 2013 approved for speed events.  This is a slalom-only race helmet that will also work well for free-skiing with the chin guard removed.

With the combination of SPIN, the Maxilla Breakaway, an advanced multi impact EPP liner and POC's robust ABS shell, the POC Artic SL SPIN is a smart choice for serious ski racers.  POC helmets are the helmet of choice for World Cup athletes Steven Nyman, Marie-Michele Gagnon, Andre Myhrer, Frida Hansdotter, Jared Goldberg and Mattias Hargin.
