FIS-certified GS helmets built for Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Downhill, in junior through adult sizes. Every helmet in this collection meets FIS RH 2013 certification, the standard required for GS and speed events in FIS and USSA-sanctioned races, exceeding the baseline ASTM F2040 and CE EN1077 Class A standards that cover recreational skiing.
We carry GS helmets from POC, Smith, Oakley, Atomic, Head, Sweet Protection, and Shred, most with MIPS or an equivalent rotational protection system built in. Prices generally run from about $190 to $550 depending on brand, size, and certification level.
Racing Slalom too? A FIS-certified GS helmet will pass inspection for Slalom as well, but most Slalom racers still prefer a purpose-built Slalom Helmet for its integrated chin guard and lighter weight. Pair either helmet with a properly fitted chin guard where your racer's event calls for one.
Not sure whether your racer needs a FIS-certified helmet, or which size fits? Stop by our shop in Killington and our team will measure your racer and match the right helmet to their events in person.
